It’s a heart matter

Is there a relationship between passion and boredom

You could argue that as passion runs out then it’s time for boredom. It could be also true that an excess of boredom gets crushed by a sudden passion.

Yesterday we had a creative workshop with Roberto and Elisa: we focused on how uncertainty, curiosity, the need for innovative solutions can be a unique kickstart to let our inner energies generate art.

Art – and the creative journey – is a concrete action, it has to do with an imagine that is kept inside the heart of the artist, and the artist makes it get true.

Boredom, on the opposite, is the denial of creation. Boredom can be seen as stillness, or apathy, indifference. But it can also mean obsessive repetition of vain actions.

Cooking is a fantastic playground for daring and free flow creativity. You make concrete something you desire. And at last you’ll eat it too!

Passion leads to perpetual exploration, while boredom…well…some manual parts of the job in the kitchen can be quite boring. Personally I consider them as repetitive but relaxing activities, a kind of necessary gaps to counterbalance the bursting energy of passion.

Then my conclusion about yesterday is that a pinch of boredom is part of the game, it’s all about you want to deal with it. As passion leads nothing can stop it, just passion itself can.

To put is with Blaise Pascal “The heart has its reasons which reason knows nothing of… We know the truth not only by the reason, but by the heart.”
